FANUC M-20ia Overview
The FANUC M-20ia industrial robot is designed for robotic assembly, automated packaging, and material handling applications. This robot is also used in many automated arc welding scenarios as it is mechanically the same as the FANUC Arcmate 120ic The FANUC M-20IA robot is a six axis robot with servo driven motors. The FANUC M20ia robot has been produced paired with the FANUC R-30ia and FANUC R-30ib controllers. While similar to its predecessor the FANUC M-16ib, the M 20ia has a hollow wrist allowing for internal cables, creating greater flexibility, durability and motion range. This handling robot can inverted, floor mounted, or installed on a track in order to complete more complex applications. The part number for the mechanical arm of this robot is A05B-1222-B202. If the full payload and reach of this articulated robot is not required in the desired application, the FANUC M-10ia offers an economical alternative to this robot. If a higher payload is required, than a M-710ic/50 should be utilized instead. This secondhand robot can also be used in robotic waterjet and automated machine tending applications. In addition, the used FANUC M 20ia has a reach that is comparable to the FANUC M-16ib/10L robot. The wrist and J3 of this FANUC robot carries an waterproof rating of IP67 under the normal specifications. This used FANUC robot is becoming more common in the used robot market therefore the FANUC M20ia price continues to drop. This FANUC material handling robot is similar in reach and payload to the ABB IRB 2600, Motoman HP20, and the KUKA KR 16.
