Used Robotic Equipment

When it comes to purchasing an industrial robot, buyers have two options; a brand-new robot or a used robot. Used robots are a cost-effective way to implement robotic automation without breaking the bank. Companies with tight budgets or those new to robotic automation are great buyers for used industrial robots. Second-hand robots provide many of the same benefits as new ones just at a much more affordable price. While many are aware of the option to purchase a used robot, they do not realize this option also exists when it comes to buying robotic equipment.

Many used robot suppliers also specialize in selling used robotic equipment. There are many components that go into a robotic system and buying all of those brand- new can be expensive even if you buy your robot second-hand. Equipment such as welding power supplies, end-effectors, teach pendants, controllers, as well as robot parts can all be purchased used.

Robots Done Right not only sells used robots, but also used robotic equipment. RDR carries used welding power supplies including the Lincoln Powerwave i400 and the Miller Auto-Continuum 350. These power supplies can be integrated with the FANUC Arcmate 120ic and Yaskawa Motoman MA1440 for welding automation. RDR also carries used parts for FANUC, Yaskawa Motoman, ABB, and KUKA robots. We have teach pendants for the FANUC R-2000ib, CPUs that are compatible with the Motoman MH6, and amplifiers for the ABB 1600, as well as several other types of robotic parts. We also stock used teach pendants for all four top robotic brands. Whether you need a replacement pendant for the FANUC Lr Mate 200id or the Motoman EA1400N you can find it at Robots Done Right.

One of the main reasons buyers opt for used robotic equipment is because it is much more affordable than buying new. When purchasing used equipment, buyers can typically save around 50% of the cost of new equipment. In some cases, buyers may be able to save up to 70%. If you are purchasing an entire robotic system those savings can be significant as costs can quickly rise with all the components that go into robotic automation. Purchasing used robotic equipment does not mean you will be sacrificing on quality either. Most used robotic equipment can be purchased in good condition and still fully functional. To ensure you are buying good quality used equipment you will want to purchase from a reputable company such as RDR.

Another reason to consider buying used robotic equipment is that it will be compatible with older robot models. If you recently purchased a used robot or have an older pre-existing robotic system, new equipment may not be compatible. Purchasing used equipment allows you to maintain your current automation system, preventing an entire overhaul which could be expensive. For instance, if you need a replacement pendant for a Motoman Up20, buying used will be your only option as this robot uses the older XRC controller. A brand-new pendant will not be compatible with the XRC controller, preventing you from being able to program your robot. Buying used robotic equipment will allow you to keep your older robot running for several more years or until you decide it is time to upgrade.
