FANUC CR-7iA Overview

The FANUC CR-7iA is one of FANUC’s smaller collaborative robots. The CR7iA features a payload of 7 kg and a reach of 717 mm. Its lower payload and compact size make it ideal for light, tedious, and manual tasks. This includes assembly, material handling, pick and place, and machine tending applications. The CR7iA’s small footprint allows for operation within tight spaces. Its small size also allows for several of these units to operate within close proximity to one another without interference. The CR7iA offers greater manufacturing flexibility with its various mounting options including floor, ceiling, wall, and rail. FANUC’s CR 7ia pairs with their R-30ib+ mate controller.

One of the biggest advantages of the CR7ia is the ability to have collaborative operation with humans without safety fencing. This is possible through FANUC’s smart sensor technology, which brings the CR/7ia to a complete stop if it comes into contact with a person or a fixed object. In fact, it is ISO 10218-1 certified for safety. This is why CR 7ia robots can be found working alongside humans in a wide range of industries including automotive, packaging, and metalworking.

Programming the CR/7ia is made simple through hand guidance technology. The robot is guided by hand to demonstrate a desired path. This programming method is perfect for teaching repetitive or one-time tasks. The CR-7iA can even be programmed to complete entire production flows that require consistent quality levels. This FANUC cobot has the same reach and payload as the FANUC LR Mate 200id
