FANUC RJ3IB M Series Comparison - M-6ib, M-16ib, and M-16ib/10L

The FANUC M-6ib, FANUC M-16ib, and the FANUC M-16ib 10 are three mainstream industrial robots that have been integrated into thousands of robotic applications around the world. These three used FANUC robots can generally perform the same applications with one being a better fir than another. The following is a comparison between the 3 robot models:

The M6ib RJ3IB has the most compact work envelope and lightest robot mass of the 3 robot models. The majority of these model found are going to have the FANUC R-J3IB controller. The M16ib RJ3IB has the highest payload, while the used FANUC M16ib 10L RJ3IB has the longest reach of the 3 industrial robots. Both the FANUC M6ib and FANUC M16ib have a repeatability of .08 MM while the FANUC M16ib/10L has a repeatability of .1 MM" All three models are viable choices for most applications, however if the work envelope is an issue, the FANUC M-6ib is much smaller than the other 2. Generally, the M6ib will also be the most economical because of the size difference. If the robot might be repurposed in the future, the used FANUC M16ib provides more flexibility than the used FANUC M16ib 10L and used M6ib due to the increased payload, while not giving up any speed. Since they have the same build as the FANUC Arcmate 100ib , FANUC Arcmate 120ib, and FANUC Arcmate 120ib/10L respectively, replacement parts for these models are typically easy to locate. These 3 material handling robots are also available in the FANUC R-30ia and R-J3IC controllers. In general, adding a used FANUC robot will help maximize production of your material handling application, increasing profitability.
