FANUC CR-35ia OverviewThe CR-35ia is FANUC’s first collaborative robot. Keeping true to their reputation of building strong robots, the CR35iA is the strongest collaborative robot in the world with a payload capacity of 35 kg. Not only does this cobot have a high payload, but it also offers a longer reach of 1,813 mm than other collaborative robots, allowing the CR 35iA to perform a wider range of applications. These applications include assembly, pick and place, packaging, machine loading, palletizing, and part transfer. Since the CR/35iA has a higher payload capacity than other cobots, it can only be floor mounted, but it still provides a smaller footprint.
The CR 35ia is designed to operate within close proximity to human workers without the requirement of safety fencing. Featuring FANUC’s contact stop protection, the CR-35ia will come to a complete stop if it comes into contact with workers allowing for safe collaborative work. Additional collision protection comes from its soft green rubber coating for gentle touch and protection from any pinch points. In fact, it is certified to meet the requirements of the international standard ISO 10218-1. The CR-35ia pairs with FANUC’s R-30iB Plus controls or their R-30ib+ mate controls. This robot is similar in payload and reach to the non-collaborative FANUC M-20ia
Programming is a breeze with FANUC’s CR35ia with an option for hand guided teaching. This hand guidance feature allows for easy and simple teaching without the use of a pendant for programming. Humans can guide the robot by hand to demonstrate the desired movements and path of an application. Hand guidance can be used to teach repetitive tasks, along with one-time tasks such as lifting a heavy object for a worker. Speed and safety settings are customizable for the CR-35iA for easy adoption to a specific application.
