ABB IRB 1200 Overview
The ABB IRB 1200 is a 6-axis industrial robot designed for performing automated material handling and robotic assembly applications. The IRB-1200 comes in two variants, one featuring a 5 kg payload capacity and a 900 mm reach. The other features a 7 kg payload capacity and a 700 mm reach.With a compact design, the IRB/1200 can be mounted from any angle and accommodate small workspaces. Despite its small footprint, it is 10% faster than competitor industrial robots of its size. The ABB 1200 is similar in payload and reach to the FANUC LR Mate 200ic, Yaskawa Motoman MH3F, and KUKA KR5 R650. This articulated robot can also be placed closer to workpieces than other robots since its second axis is not offset. This results in longer arm strokes and a more efficient operation to reduce cycle times.
The ABB IRB.1200 comes standard with an IP40 protection rating. There are also options available for food grade and clean room upgrades. Each of these options provide full IP67 protection to ensure the safe and hygienic operation of the IRB 1200 in sensitive environments.
The ABB irb1200 is paired with the intelligent IRC5 controller. It also features ABB’s SafeMove2 software. SafeMove2 provides advanced safety monitoring and control technology. With this system the IRB1200 can operate in close proximity to other robots or operators without collision or interference as robot motion is restricted to only what is needed for a given application.
